The Dodgers can't buy a run right now.

Teoscar Hernandez, one of their hottest hitters, smoked a ball to straightaway center to lead off the second inning of Tuesday afternoon's game against the Mets at Citi Field.

Mets CF Tyrone Taylor tracked the deep shot and leaped at the wall to rob the home run, but he wasn't able to come down with it.

Most of the time that means the ball went over the fence, but not for the Dodgers. Not right now. Instead of glancing off of Taylor's glove and off the batter's eye for a home run, the ball stayed in Taylor's glove long enough to ricochet back out toward the field.

Hernandez cruised into second with a double instead of a home run. As they are wont to do lately, the Dodgers stranded the runner at second, compounding their struggles with runners in scoring position. After Gavin Lux, Chris Taylor and Jason Heyward went down in order following the Hernandez double, Los Angeles is now 6-for-50 with RISP over their last five-plus games.
