A scary injury for Dodgers NL rival Atlanta

There was some bad news for the baseball world Sunday when Braves outfielder and reigning National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. went down with a non-contact knee injury during the first inning of Atlanta's game against the Pirates.

Acuna was on second base and appeared to try a delayed steal before falling down and immediately grabbing at his left knee. It's unclear what the extent of the injury is, although it's worth noting his left knee is not the one he suffered a torn ACL in back in 2021.

The Braves are calling the injury knee soreness for now. We'll keep our fingers crossed that's the extent of the issue and Acuna is back in the lineup soon.

LA will be keeping a close eye on the Braves this season. Atlanta is just 1.5 back of the Dodgers in the standings. Hopefully the battle between the Dodgers, Braves and Phillies for NL supremacy can come down without any major injuries along the way.
