The Dodgers offense started to come to life Wednesday night in Pittsburgh. It was all the way back Thursday and a big game for LA's bats got an emphatic punctuation mark by shortstop Mookie Betts.
Betts came up in the top of the fifth with runners on the corners and LA leading 7-4 after plating three runs in the frame. He got a 1-1 sinker and jumped all over it, crushing it 410 feet out to straightaway center for a three-run homer that put the Dodgers up 10-4.
It was Betts' 10th home run of the year and the third of the game for the Dodgers. Freddie Freeman had a three-run homer in the first inning, and Teoscar Hernandez led off the fifth with a solo shot.
