The Dodgers have a golden opportunity to start June with a bang against the National League West's last-place team, the Colorado Rockies. Despite their recent struggles at the plate, BetMGM Sportsbook still likes LA to get back on track against Colorado.
Here's a quick look at the odds and totals for Saturday night's showdown at Dodger Stadium:
Moneyline
Dodgers: -300
Rockies: +240
Run line
Dodgers -1.5: -135
Rockies +1.5: +115
Total
Over 7.5 runs: -105
Under 7.5 runs: -115
What we can glean from this is that LA is favored to win a low-scoring game. They're the heavy favorites to win outright. That's always going to be the case when a team as good as LA is facing a rebuilding club like the Rockies.
The interesting piece of this is that the Dodgers are pretty strongly favored to win by two-plus runs. Combining that with the odds leaning slightly toward the under we can glean that the books like LA to win 5-2, or something in that range.
With Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the bump for LA there's a strong chance Colorado's offense is held in check. He gave up four runs in his last outing, but he's yet to give up four-plus in consecutive starts as a Major Leaguer.
Ideally the Dodgers would easily dispatch of Colorado. Their recent play makes it hard to pencil in any kind of dominance from LA.
We like the way the odds are leaning and we'll ride with the Dodgers on the run line and the under.
