There isn't too much time left in the 2024 Major League Baseball regular season.
It has been an exciting season with plenty of surprises. The Los Angeles Dodgers unsurprisingly has been one of the best teams in baseball and is among the favorites to win the World Series this year.
Los Angeles was busy this past offseason and landed two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, phenom Yoshinobu Yamamoto, slugger Teoscar Hernández, and Tyler Glasnow among others. The Dodgers are in a great spot with the postseason on the horizon.
Once the season ends, the Dodgers likely will be busy again. Los Angeles already has been linked to a handful of stars, but MLB.com's Mark Feinsand predicted that the Dodgers won't be in on the sweepstakes for the best free agent available: New York Yankees superstar Juan Soto.
"The Yankees and (New York Mets) are obvious," Feinsand said. "I think this will be a two-team race, but there’s already been some (Washington Nationals) buzz, which makes sense. Washington has a solid young core to build around and has a lot of money coming off the books. I don’t think the Dodgers will be in on Soto after signing Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto last year, but the (San Francisco Giants) are still looking to reel in that big fish they have been seeking for two years, so I expect them to enter this fray."
Pairing Soto with Ohtani and Mookie Betts would be phenomenal. The Dodgers seemingly have bottomless pockets and likely will be mentioned with Soto once the season ends. Hopefully, Los Angeles at least can get involved in the sweepstakes.
