The Los Angeles Dodgers have a good chance of competing for a World Series title this fall but then should be active this winter.
Los Angeles clearly is among the top favorites to win the World Series this year. The Dodgers finished the season with the best record in the National League and now have a solid path to the World Series. Los Angeles will face off against either the Atlanta Braves or San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series.
Once the season ends, no matter what happens, the Dodgers will need to look for some help for the bullpen. There already have been rumblings about players the club could target, including an old friend. Once free agency begins, one player who should be near the top of Los Angeles' wish list is star closer Kenley Jansen.
He spent the first 12 seasons of his big league career as a member of the Dodgers. Over that stretch, he earned three All-Star nods and was a member of the 2020 World Series-winning club. Jansen is a true star and has spent the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox.
He will be a free agent this winter, and it seems very clear that he won't be returning. Jansen has made it known that he wants to finish his career as a member of the Dodgers. He now is 37 years old and is nearing the end of his big-league career. It seems like the stars are aligning for a return this winter.
