The Los Angeles Dodgers already have had a strong trade deadline but could have another move up their sleeve.
Los Angeles already has made multiple moves and is in a better spot. The Dodgers acquired Amed Rosario, Tommy Edman, and Michael Kopech but still could use one more starting pitcher because of the plethora of injuries the club has dealt with this year.
There still are a couple of top-tier hurlers expected to be moved, including Detroit Tigers resurgent ace Jack Flaherty.
Flaherty is expected to be on the move and will be one of, if not the best-starting pitcher traded before the deadline passes. Los Angeles reportedly is showing interest in acquiring him along with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman.
"Hearing Dodgers, Yankees and Red Sox are among teams with interest in Tigers top right-hander Jack Flaherty," Heyman said.
Flaherty is having a bounce-back season with the Tigers and currently boasts a 2.95 ERA in 18 starts to go along with an impressive 133-to-19 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 106 2/3 innings pitched.
Los Angeles clearly is going all in on the 2024 season and a rental like Flaherty could help put it over the top. The Dodgers should start to get some important pieces back soon, but Flaherty would be a great option.
