The Dodgers got some good news on Clayton Kershaw's surgically repaired left shoulder. The left-hander was shut down for a week after experiencing shoulder soreness following a rehab start in Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. It appears that week off did the trick.

Kershaw on Tuesday spoke with reporters and said he's feeling better after taking some time off from his rehab. Manager Dave Roberts indicated Kershaw will throw a bullpen session Wednesday per the Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.

"I would argue he looks better than he did when he was kind of making his way back a few weeks ago," Roberts told reporters.

That Kershaw is on track to return is a good sign, but it's an even better sign that he won't likely lose time in his comeback. Roberts said when Kershaw was initially shut down that the club didn't expect it to impact his timeline and that he should mostly be able to pick up where he left off.

Kershaw was due for a rehab start in Triple-A Oklahoma City before the shoulder soreness set in and halted his progress. It sounds like that may still be what's next up for him in his road back.
