The Los Angeles Dodgers became the first team to release a second iteration of Nike's City Connect uniforms, announcing their new look on Monday.
While the team's first look back in 2021 was a monochromatic blue look, with a stated goal of saluting the team's Latino fanbase, the second set aims at honoring the history of Los Angeles itself:

Stars, dreams, and a couple different shades of blue feature in the new look. Early leaks of the uniform set drew some comparisons to the Disney aspect of LA, with the team's stylized 'D' likely feeding into that line of thinking.

The Dodgers had been one of a few teams to alter their previous City Connect look, typically deploying the 'Los Dodgers' jerseys with a white pant. This is an entirely different look, of course.
At the very least, it does feature a departure from the Dodgers' typical uniform set. Different shades of blue and an off-white look within the uniform do help to set it apart from anything they'd typically wear. Same goes for the nameplate underneath the numbers as opposed to its typical spot above.
Given the lack of risk involved in recent City Connect editions from throughout the league, however, this is likely to draw some of the same criticism. But with a uniform as embedded into the organization as the Dodgers' standard set is, garnering praise for anything was going to be tough.
Regardless of the reaction, the Dodgers will debut their new City Connect editions on Saturday against the Angels.
