The San Francisco Giants on Tuesday announced the death of Hall of Fame centerfielder and Major League Baseball legend Willie Mays.
Los Angeles paid tribute to Mays in a social media post, including a statement that said "the Dodgers pay tribute to the incomparable Willie Mays. From the East Coast to the West Coast, he dazzled baseball fans, leaving behind cherished memories for generations. For the Dodgers, there was no finer rival. We mourn his loss and extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones."
Mays clubbed 660 home runs in his career, 98 of which came against the Dodgers -- his most against any team. He finished his career vs. the Dodgers with a .309 batting average and .400 on-base percentage.
Rest in peace to one of the very greatest players to ever lace up spikes.
