Will the Los Angeles Dodgers pull off a blockbuster deal this winter?
Los Angeles is currently still playing. The Dodgers will attempt to make a run to the World Series and have a strong chance of doing so. Once the playoffs are over, the Dodgers likely will be aggressive, no matter what happens.
The Dodgers could win the World Series, and they still would likely be one of the most active teams in baseball. Los Angeles' front office clearly isn't afraid of making a big move. The Dodgers could look to free agency but also could pull off a big trade.
Los Angeles may have some of the top star power in baseball in its lineup, but it still also has one of the top farm systems in baseball. This could lead to another trade for a star, and FanSided's Josh Jacobs floated Los Angeles as a possible landing spot for St. Louis Cardinals star Nolan Arenado.
"Destinations: Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Houston Astros," Jacobs said. "If it were not for recent comments by Nolan Arenado regarding his tone shift in how he is pouring into young guys and trying to be a leader through hard times, I would have almost guaranteed you he would be on the first flight to Los Angeles this offseason if he had the choice...
"If Arenado were traded, Los Angeles would be the major betting favorite in my eyes. If I had to pick two other clubs, though, I would suggest the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. The Astros will likely lose Alex Bregman this offseason and could see Arenado as a cheaper option (assuming St. Louis eats money on the deal), and the Yankees could use another right-handed bat in their lineup, especially as they are set to lose Gleyber Torres in free agency."
Los Angeles has been linked to Arenado before. Could the Dodgers call the Cardinals this winter?
