The Los Angeles Dodgers could be looking to add more starting pitching for the future after dealing with injuries in 2024. Adding more depth could prevent inconsistency if they deal with injuries again next season.
While listing potential trades for Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet, FanSided's Hannah Filippo proposed this four-player trade that sends Crochet to the Dodgers:
- Dodgers receiver left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet
- White Sox receive left-handed pitcher Jackson Ferris, left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski and outfielder Andy Pages
Ferris and Wrobleski are the Dodgers' No. 4 and No. 6 prospects respectively, according to MLB Pipeline. Both could give the White Sox an upside for the future.
"Ferris has been compared to Blake Snell at his current development stage, and his pitching stats this year--3.20 ERA over 126.2 innings with 145 strikeouts--back this up," wrote Filippo. "Though Wrobleski has struggled to maintain control and has been sent down and recalled by the Dodgers four times this year, his scouting report has high hopes."
Pages would be the capper in the deal as he has already made it to the big leagues and has played in 116 games for the Dodgers.
"Pages rounds out this trade by offering high risk and reward as a powerful hitter that struggles to stay healthy," wrote Filippo. "He could either take the starting position in rightfield that’s up for grabs currently, or provide insurance as a utility outfielder."
Crochet still has two years of club control before he hits free agency. Despite his willingness to sign an extension, the White Sox plan to trade him, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
"White Sox starter Garrett Crochet says he’s interested in signing a long-term contract extension, but the White Sox still fully intend to trade him this winter," wrote Nightengale.
