The Boston Red Sox were able to beat the Kansas City Royals today, 9-5 due to their offense exploding for 18 hits.

Every hitter was on fire today with six of the batters having two or more hits, and Masataka Yoshida having four hits on the day. The game was close until Jarren Duran broke the 2-2 tie in the sixth inning with a double to score two, and the hits came easy after that to pile on five more runs.

Starting pitcher James Paxton pitched well today, only giving up two runs in the six innings he pitched. Cooper Criswell came in for relief and gave up two runs, bringing in deadline acquisition Luis Garcia, who gave up one run before shutting down their offense. Cam Booser closed it out to secure the win.

The Sox play their next game tomorrow against the Kansas City Royals at 8:10pm EST.
