Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas hasn't played a game since late April when he suffered torn cartilage in his ribs, but that should end soon.

On Sunday, Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters (via. Chris Cotillo) that Casas is set to start his rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Worcester.

Boston has sorely missed Casas' presence at first base this year. While Dom Smith has been solid over the last month or so, the beginning wasn't so great when he split time with Garrett Cooper at the position.

In 22 games this year, Casas has hit .244 with an .857 OPS, six home runs and 10 RBIs.

After this rehab assignment starts, Boston may get their first baseman back soon.
