In an offensive show, the Boston Red Sox were able to blow by the Seattle Mariners 14-7.

This was thanks to a much needed performance by a starting pitcher, Nick Pivetta. Pivetta went almost seven innings, only letting up three runs with 10 strikeouts. This gave the bullpen a much needed game to rest, and only had to send out a couple of pitchers, who gave up four more runs.

The game was won in the third inning, when Connor Wong broke the scoreless tie by scoring on a wild pitch, and Wilyer Abreu hit a single to score another. The Sox scored another five runs in that innings making the game 7-0. They kept piling the runs on until the end to end the game 14-7.

The Sox will play the second game of the series tomorrow at 7:10pm EST.
