After the Boston Red Sox defeated the Washington Nationals 4-2 on Saturday, the team made a roster move in preparation for the series finale.

According to MassLive's Sean McAdam, Boston has optioned right-handed pitcher Josh Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester to make room for Brayan Bello, who is returning from the injured list.

Winckowski, 25, has appeared in 12 games for Boston this season, starting three of them. He's thrown 24 1/13 innings and posted a 3.33 ERA and a 1.562 WHIP.

Bello is expected to start for the Red Sox on Sunday at Fenway Park. He's been out for nearly a month, but prior to his injury, he had started five games, posting a 3.04 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.
