Before Friday's game between the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics at Fenway Park, Boston recalled Cooper Criswell to make the start and optioned Trey Wingarter to Triple-A Worcester, but that's apparently not the only move that's coming.

According to MassLive's Chris Cotillo, Boston is placing right-handed reliever Justin Slaten on the 15-day injured list with elbow inflammation (retroactive to July 9). To fill the spot, they'll recall left-handed reliever Cam Booser from Worcester.

Slaten has been the Red Sox' go-to setup man this year, posting a 3.38 ERA and a 1.031 WHIP while striking out 45 in 42 2/3 innings across 31 appearances.

Booser has bounced back and forth between Boston and Worcester this year, recording a 3.00 ERA and a 1.167 WHIP while striking out 34 over 30 innings in 27 games.
