The Boston Red Sox can't escape the injury issues this season, as new first baseman Garrett Cooper, who is making his debut for the team after being acquired in a trade from the Chicago Cubs, was forced out of their Tuesday battle with the San Francisco Giants.

In the fifth inning, San Francisco hit Cooper with a pitch on the wrist, and he couldn't make it down to first base before he was checked out by manager Alex Cora and the training staff.

Cooper was brought in to help ease the pain after the Red Sox lost Triston Casas to a rib injury for at least two months.

Hopefully, it's nothing serious, but with the way Boston's luck is going in 2024, it makes sense for fans to prepare for the worst.
