The Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays were in the middle of the second inning of their Wednesday night battle at Fenway Park before the skies opened up and rain started to pour down on the field and players.

After trying to push through it, the grounds crew brought the tarp out, and the game entered a rain delay in the top of the second inning with one man on and one out for the Blue Jays.

It's unclear at this point when the game will resume, but the rain isn't supposed to be coming down for much longer.

We'll update this post when the game is expected to start again.

UPDATE (8:55 p.m. ET): It is still pouring rain.

UPDATE (9:26 p.m. ET): The game has been suspended.
