Tigres goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman suffered a foot injury in training Friday morning and won't be able to face Club America this weekend, the team announced Friday.
Guzman was the star of a penalty shootout in the second leg of the Liga MX final between the two teams that took place less than a month ago, making several saves as Tigres became the champions. But he won't be able to reprise that performance after suffering a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his left foot.

After tests to determine the severity of the injury, Guzman underwent surgery. The team said Friday night it expects the goalkeeper to be out for six weeks.
Tigres No. 2 Enrique Palos likely will play in the interim. He started the first match of the Clausura, a scoreless draw against Santos Laguna, when Guzman and several of Tigres' other stars were still recuperating after the Christmas Day final victory.
America also will be without several of the players who contested that final, including Rubens Sambueza. The former Aguilas captain left the club for Toluca during the offseason, but Tigres midfielder Jurgen Damm says the playmaker's absence won't change the complexion of the match.
"He was a really important player for them and he made history in the time that he was there. He's a very important player, different," Damm said. "Unfortunately, he's not there any more, but America has plenty of players and we can't put this absence in our favor."
