Chicharito showed why West Ham United moved for him during the offseason, scoring twice in a 3-2 defeat against Southampton. The Mexico forward moved out to the wing with the Hammers reduced to 10 men as he scored his first goal since returning to the Premier League and followed it up with a second.

It was a second goal in as many weeks for Hirving Lozano with PSV, and the 22-year-old winger also added an assist.

But it wasn't all good, with Hector Moreno not making his debut with Roma in the team's Serie A bow, and Guillermo Ochoa conceding four goals with Standard in Belgium.
