Following Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT's) 3-2 defeat to Global FC in their AFC Cup match on Wednesday, JDT assistant head coach Ismail Ibrahim has promised that the Southern Tigers will bounce back.

In the Group F match held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, Manila, a disastrous lapse in concentration in the first half caused the visitors to concede three goals in an eight-minute period.

Gabriel Guerra then scored a brace for JDT in the second half, but they could not find the much-needed equaliser.

In a post on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page, Ismail blamed the defeat on errors made by the team.

"We missed several goal-scoring opportunities in the first half. Our defence made a lot of mistakes, our midfielders also made mistakes.

"In just 10 minutes we allowed them to score three goals and that was the biggest mistake for the team," said Ismail.

The Southern Tigers must bounce back in their next match, vowed Ismail.

"We will not be making the same mistakes in the next match. We need to win and cannot lose.

"It was a game of two halves, and had we played like how we did in the second half, we would've surely won," he added.

The defeat was JDT's first back-to-back defeats not including penalty shootouts since February 2015, after they fell to a 3-1 defeat to rivals Pahang in their first leg FA Cup quarter-final match last Saturday.

They have also been pipped to the first place in Group F by Global following the match.

This Sunday, JDT will take on neighbours Melaka United at home in the Super League.
