Super League leaders and defending champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), as well as Kelantan, are set to be punished by M-League organiser Football Malaysia LLP (FMLLP) after they failed to control the crowd during their respective matches.

According to a media statement issued on Thursday, JDT have been found guilty after their fans threw receipt rolls onto the running track as soon as the state anthem finished playing, just before their clash against Melaka United on the 9th of April.

For Kelantan, they have also been found to be at fault after their fans threw water bottles onto the field during their league match against JDT on the 12th of April 2017.

According to Article 5.8.2 (a) (vi) of the OTP Regulations, if the home fans break any regulation, it is the under the responsibility of the home team, and should the away teams fans break any rules, the away team must be held responsible.

FMLLP has forwarded the cased to the Legal Department of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for further action, added the statement.

JDT picked up a win in both matches, recording a thumping 7-0 victory over Melaka before narrowly defeating Kelantan 3-2 in Kota Bharu. The Southern Tigers are currently leading the league standings.
