Taiwan once ruled the Little League World Series, winning 17 times between 1969-1996. Since then, no team from Taiwan has won the title, and only one has even reached the final. That could change in 2024.

Chinese Taipei secured its place in the international bracket championship game with a dominant 4-0 run, outscoring opponents 32-3 over four wins to move to the doorstep of the final.

The squad won again in the international final, besting Venezuela, 4-1, and guaranteeing Chinese Taipei's best Little League World Series finish in 15 years. A victory over Florida, the U.S. champion, on Sunday would deliver a long-awaited championship.

Here's a complete look at the 12-man roster for the Chinese Taipei Little League World Series team.

Last year's Chinese Taipei team was often defined by star Fan Chen-Jun. This year's group might not have the same caliber of a headliner, but the results so far prove this is a deep roster.

No individual pitcher is carrying the load for Chinese Taipei, but Lai Cheng-Xi shined when he got his opportunity, striking out 10 batters over 4.2 hitless innings in the team's opener against Canada. Zhi-Kai Ciou finished off the no-hitter for Chinese Taipei.

Offensively, Chinese Taipei has gotten contributions all across the board. Liao Hsuan-Hao went 3-3 with 5 RBI in the team's dominant 11-0 win over Australia. Meanwhile, a home run and four total RBI from Chiu Wei-Che helped propel Chinese Taipei to its big win over Cuba.

Here are more details about where the Chinese Taipei Little League team is from and how it differs from last year's group.

Where is the Chinese Taipei Little League team from?

The Chinese Taipei Little League World Series team is Kuei-Shan Little League from Taoyuan, Taiwan.

Kuei-Shan Little League is making its fourth trip to the Little League World Series and second in a row. The team finished third in Williamsport a year ago. This is also Chinese Taipei's third consecutive year representing the Asia-Pacific Region in the tournament.

Who is Chinese Taipei Little League’s manager?

Chinese Taipei is managed by Lee Cheng-Ta, with Kuo Hsuan-Ming and Kan Yi-Che serving as assistant coaches.

Cheng-Ta is managing in the Little League World Series for the fourth time, so he knows his way around Williamsport at this point. What he's still missing is a championship.

That moment almost came last year, when Chinese Taipei ultimately finished third after a tournament to be proud of. Cheng-Ta's team was headlined by a few different players last season, including ace Fan Chen-Jun, but he told the Williamsport Sun-Gazette that the differences between this year's team and last year's could be what makes a championship possible.

While acknowledging the star power of Chen-Jun might not be there this year, Cheng-Ta said, "This year, everybody's pretty good."

That balance has shown itself to this point, as Chinese Taipei has enjoyed offensive explosions and held down talented lineups. Two more wins would give Cheng-Ta the title he's been seeking for quite a long time.
