Liga MX Goals of the Week: The best from Jornada 3 of the Clausura image

Liga MX is generally replete with goals each weekend. In Week 2 every match had at least one goal. This weekend it was a different story as four matches finished scoreless. Nevertheless, Goal once again takes you through the best goals from Mexico this weekend, and despite the general lack of scoring there were some good ones to watch.

Honorable mention this week goes to a pair of repeat scorers. Ravel Morrison once again found the back of the net for Atlas in a defeat, capping off a nice move started by Rafa Marquez in the midfield. And Santos Laguna is in third place thanks in no small part to Djaniny, who scored his fifth goal of the season to go atop the golden boot standings.

3. Alan Pulido (Chivas) - 1-0 vs. Necaxa

It's Alan Pulido's name on this goal and his boot on the ball before it crosses the line, but this goal is all about work down Chivas' right wing by Javier "La Chofis" Lopez. The clip above sadly cuts out him being pinned in the corner by two Necaxa defenders but picks up where he's still being watched by two players and manages to skip down the line and not only move the ball into the box but find a teammate in decent scoring position.

Pulido does a nice job to get a good shot off as well. Necaxa's top-quality goalkeeper, Marcelo Barovero, gets a piece of it but Pulido's left-footed shot has too much power on it for him to make a stop. It was a great way for Chivas to start the game and for Pulido to open his Clausura account.

2. Luis Quinones (Toluca) - 2-0 vs. Atlas

It's been a frustrating few tournaments in Liga MX for Luis Quinones, whose rights are held by Tigres but keeps getting loaned out to clubs with the reigning champion deeming the Colombian midfielder surplus. It went really wrong in the Apertura when Quinones got into a spat with Lobos BUAP coaches and ended up spending most of the season out of the squad.

So it had to be a good feeling when Quinones was able to score his first Toluca goal Friday. It was a beauty, as Quinones almost steals the ball from his own teammate's foot before making a forward thrust and sending the ball swooping in from outside the box to put the Red Devils up 2-0.

1. Erick Aguirre (Pachuca) - 3-0 vs. Lobos BUAP

Pachuca picked Lobos BUAP apart in the first half of the clubs' matchup Saturday, but no goal was finer this week than Tuzos' third. After quick passing between Victor Guzman and Franco Jara in the build-up, Keisuke Honda sent through a nifty pass for Aguirre with his first touch.

The commentator says Aguirre "looked offside," but the defender keeps him on. From there, he's about to get around the goalkeeper and finish off Pachuca's first-half onslaught with a smooth and easy finish into the empty net. Then he wheels off to celebrate, no doubt with the thought of winning Goal's Liga MX Goal of the Week also dancing through his head.
