Barcelona vs Villarreal: TV channel, live stream, squad news & preview image

Barcelona will attempt to preserve their unbeaten La Liga campaign when they face Villarreal at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Ernesto Valverde's side played out a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday and, having already been crowned champions, they will be keen to end the season on a high note.

The Catalan outfit came out on top when they took on Villarreal back in December, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, so they will be confident in their ability to win.

However, the visitors will also be fired up, since they are currently on a four-match unbeaten run themselves and a positive result could ensure continental football for them next season.

Match Preview

Luis Suarez Philippe Coutinho Sergi Roberto Barcelona

Barcelona are on course for an unbeaten season in La Liga and Villarreal are the first of three remaining opponents they must navigate past if they are to achieve that feat.

The Blaugrana take on the Yellow Submarine at Camp Nou, before playing Levante away and they wrap up the season in front of their own fans with a game against Real Sociedad.

With the game coming so soon after the Clasico encounter and the league title already secured, Valverde may opt to switch things up, but the idea of going unbeaten excites him.

"It would be something incredible to be able to get it," Barcelona boss Valverde said of the prospect of lasting a full league season without defeat. "We have to look for incentives and that is important."

Interestingly, Villarreal are set to offer Barca a pasillo or guard of honour before the game as a nod of acknowledgement for their early Liga triumph, which is significant following Madrid's refusal to do so.
