Gavi joins team training after a lengthy layoff
Gavi’s return comes after a gruelling recovery from an ACL tear he sustained while playing for Spain in November 2023.
After months of rehabilitation, the 20-year-old participated in part of a group training session at Ciutat Esportiva. His teammates welcomed him back with a “tunnel of slaps,” a fun and traditional gesture at the club.

Despite this positive step, manager Hansi Flick made it clear that there’s no rush for Gavi to return to first-team action. "There is no pressure," Flick reassured, adding that the plan is to carefully ease Gavi back into regular matches.
Gavi missed the entire 2023/24 season due to injury, during which Barcelona finished without a trophy, and Spain won the UEFA tournament by defeating England in the final.
With the new season underway and Barca currently at the top of La Liga with four straight wins, the team has received a boost with positive news about Gavi's recovery.
Former coach Xavi Hernandez had described him as the "heart with legs" of the midfield, and his return is highly anticipated under new manager Hansi Flick
Barcelona fans may need to be patient, but the sight of Gavi back in training is a huge boost for the squad. After a challenging recovery process, Gavi is determined to make his return one to remember.
