Arsenal are one of a number of clubs who have been linked with Mbappe, with the likes of Manchester City, United and Real Madrid all apparently keen admirers.
Goal understands that the Gunners are interested in signing the Monaco star but that no official bid for the 18-year-old had yet been made.
But the sight of Wenger and Gazidis in France is sure to get Arsenal fans excited, with Monaco only around a 30-minute car journey from Nice.
City, for their part, are also in the hunt for the forward, with Goal revealing that the £50 million pursuit of defender Virgil van Dijk could be scrapped if the club manage to strike a deal for Mbappe.
Mbappe himself has suggested that he is in no rush to make a decision, with playing time his most important consideration as he weighs up his future.
