Indian Super League (ISL) reigning champions Chennaiyin FC have announced the signing of Mizoram trio Isaac Vanmalsawma, Zohmingliana Ralte and Laldinliana Renthlei on two-year deals.

Isaac and Zohmingliana join the Super Machans from FC Pune City and Bengaluru FC respectively following the expiry of their contracts. Laldinliana joins the South Indian outfit on a free transfer from Mizoram Premier League (MPL) outfit Chhinga Veng FC, having completed a loan stint at Aizawl FC in the 2017-18 chapter of I-League.

Speaking on his transfer, 21-year-old winger Issac commented, “I am very excited to have joined the champions. I can’t wait to work under a successful coach like John Gregory and further develop as a player. I hope to help Chennaiyin retain the ISL title.’’

Zohmingliana too is looking forward to the new chapter with the two-time ISL champions as he revealed, ''Chennaiyin has been the most consistent team in ISL history and I aim to give my best to help them achieve their targets in all competitions.”

It will be Laldinliana’s debut stint in the IMG-R owned league, and the youngster promises to deliver his best. “This will be my first ever stint with an ISL franchise and that too with the champions so I am relishing the opportunity. 2017-18 was a memorable season and now I am very excited to have joined a massive club like Chennaiyin FC,’’ he concluded.

Head coach John Gregory believes that the three recruitments will add further quality and depth to the squad ahead of the upcoming season.
