FC Pune City were beaten by a 0-1 by Chennaiyin FC on their home soil in what was their fourth match of the Indian Super League (ISL) season four. Henrique Sereno's 81st minute strike turned out to be the difference between the two teams.

The Orange and Purple brigde did create a few openings in the first half but couldn't convert the same.

Speaking about the match, Serbian coach Ranko Popovic said, "It’s really bad for us to lose a game like this. I don’t say that we deserved to win because we were better. We were tired. This is our fourth game in the last 10-to-11 days. In the second half, we tried but we were not clinical. I am really proud of the team and how they played the game. Especially in the first half, we played well. We created chances but unfortunately didn’t score the goals."

Popovic was not completely heartbroken after losing the tie. Rather he looked for positives from this match.

"The positive thing about the team is that the players were in good shape. We played nice football, attacking football. First 45 minutes was clear domination by us. In the second half we didn’t have clear chances. The guys need to recover. One or two days and then we will see."

FC Pune City will next play against Bengaluru FC on December 14th at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune.
