It was only last week that Bhaichung Bhutia was axed from the Technical Committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). His role as an advisor to the President too had come to an end and the contract wasn’t renewed.
Bhutia wasn’t named in any of the sub committees of the AIFF and incidentally the former India skipper also took to social media to retweet an article which questioned the role of Sundar Raman, the CEO of Reliance Sports, in the AIFF Technical Committee.

However, the Indian FA are to approach Bhutia for an official role in the coming weeks. It is reliably learnt that the Federation officials weren’t too pleased with what Bhutia had to offer in his role as an advisor.
“We will look to offer a more suitable role to Bhaichung in the coming weeks,” informed an AIFF official.
It will be interesting to see if Bhutia accepts the role when the AIFF makes a formal offer.
