I-League 2017: Chennai City announce partnership with Finnish club JS Hercules image

I-League outfit Chennai City FC have announced a long-term agreement with Finnish club JS Hercules which will see staff and player exchange along with trade ties between the state of Tamil Nadu and Finland as well. 

The agreement will see an exchange of players and staff and player between the two clubs along with cooperation in projects and best practices over time.

The partnership also includes off-season opportunities including education and work placements for the players and staff of both clubs, as per the statement released by the South Indian club. 

A statement from Rohit Ramesh, owner of Chennai City FC, read, "This partnership is also a wonderful opportunity for upcoming players from Tamil Nadu who are a part of Chennai City Football Club – not only to grow as a player but also as a fully-rounded individual with educational and cultural exposure." 

Christian Happel, CEO of JS Hercules, said, "I see this partnership as a huge thing for the Finnish and Indian businesses. This is a state level affair which proves the power of football as the best connector of people and businesses.”

Chennai City FC are currently in eighth position in the I-league while JS Hercules ply their trade in the third division of the Finnish League system.
