Kerala Blasters' reserve side walloped Madhya Bharat Sports Club 6-0 in their 2nd Division I-League game at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday.
Up north, FC Pune City 'B' were held to a 3-3 draw against LoneStar Kashmir FC at the TRC Turf Ground in Srinagar on the same day.
In a 2 PM kick-off in Jammu and Kashmir, Pune City reserves found the lead through former Mohun Bagan man Chesterpaul Lyngdoh (7' & 80'). Aakif Javaid (66', 72' & 89') scored twice in the second half to make the scoreline 2-1 in favour of the hosts.
The last ten minutes of the game saw three goals. Lyngdoh brought up his brace and Rahul Yadav (86') scored with four minutes to go to win back the lead again. However, Javaid had other plans as he completed his hat-trick late and rescued a point for his side.
FC Pune City 'B' remain 4th in Group A with two draws from as many games. LoneStar Kashmir won their first point of the season and remain a spot above bottom-placed Delhi United FC.
Meanwhile, it was complete carnage at Kochi in a 4 PM kick-off. Three goals from the hosts in either half saw them rise to the summit of Group B with six points from three outings.
Ananthu Murali (13') first breached the floodgates. Former Shillong Lajong playmaker Shaiborlang Kharpan (16', 38' & 53') scored twice in the first 45 minutes itself.
Local talent Sahal Abdul Samad (52' & 80'), who was involved in the ISL was the first to register a goal in the second half. Kharpan completed his hat-trick a minute later before Sahal scored his second goal.
Madhya Bharat had no clue whatsoever and their standings reflect the same. Rooted to the bottom of the table, they have lost all three games and shipped in 14 goals already.
