The winners of this year's Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes will be part of the 10-horse field at the 2024 Belmont Stakes.
Derby champion Mystik Dan attempted to keep his Triple Crown hopes alive at the Preakness, but Seize the Grey's wire-to-wire victory denied the thoroughbred a chance at glory. Seize the Grey drew the No. 1 post position ahead of the Belmont Stakes, while Mystik Dan landed at No. 3.
Another name to watch will be Sierra Leone (No. 9), the colt that lost the Derby by a nose to Mystik Dan. The remaining seven horses in the field are Resilience (No. 2), The Wine Steward (No. 4), Antiquarian (No. 5), Dornoch (No. 6), Protective (No. 7), Honor Marie (No. 8) and Mindframe (No. 10).
But the Belmont Stakes is just one of several events that will be held at Saratoga Race Course this weekend. It should be a highly entertaining four-day stretch for horse racing enthusiasts.
