U.S. Open leaderboard 2018: Highlights from Round 2 at Shinnecock Hills image

The golf season's second major has arrived with the 2018 U.S. Open in Shinnecock Hills. And for the first time since 2015, the U.S. Open leaderboard included three-time winner Tiger Woods.

Woods, whose last major win was the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, has cracked the top 100 in the world rankings during his return from a fourth back surgery since 2014, but he is still looking for his first win on Tour since 2013. It won't come this weekend because he missed the cut.

Those who are staying will have their work cut out for them at Shinnecock Hills in what is sure to be a grueling final two days. That group includes Brooks Koepka, who won last year's U.S. Open at Erin Hills with a record-tying score of 16 under.
