Bubba Watson earned his third win of the season last week at the Travelers Championship, and the PGA Tour moves on to Washington D.C. this week for the Quicken Loans National.

With this tournament set to hit Detroit next year, this could be the last time the event is hosted by the nation's capitol. Tiger Woods returns this week to the event he helped ignite, but he will be trying to shake off a missed cut at the U.S. Open.

With a number of star players overseas getting ready for the Open Championship, Woods might have his best chance yet at winning for the first time since 2013.

The Course

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, a 7,107-yard par 70, used to host the Kemper Open, but drainage issues forced a redesign and a long layoff from PGA Tour action. This natural layout boasts a formidable challenge with a number of rivers, streams and lakes coming into play.

Defending Champion

Kyle Stanley returned to relevancy with his first victory since 2012, edging Charles Howell III in a playoff. Stanley, now ranked 38th in the world, battled long bouts of lost form in between his two wins, even needing to earn his card back on the Web.com Tour.

Stanley enters this week's event with two top-15 finishes in his last three starts, including a runner-up effort at the Memorial Tournament.

Favorites

Woods has a great chance at finally earning another victory. His long drought has mostly been due to injury, but he's looked uncomfortable near the top of the leaderboard since his return.

Rickie Fowler and Marc Leishman serve as intriguing players this week. Both have had solid seasons to date, but could use a signature win before the Open Championship.

Sleepers

Jamie Lovemark has shown signs of form in recent events but just hasn't been able to put four rounds together. He could break through with a win this week if he can get off to a good start.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Francesco Molinari spend most of their time on the European Tour, but both have been playing great recently. Molinari has a win and a runner-up in two of his last three worldwide starts.
