The first event in the revamped schedule will be the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Texas, sources told Golf Digest. Tour events will be rescheduled through the first weekend of August.

Pro golf was halted in mid-March because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The PGA Tour attempted to hold The Players Championship without spectators, only to cancel the event after one round because of concerns about the disease. All other major U.S. sports went on hold at that time, too. The UFC and WWE have since staged events without spectators.

The tour schedule for the remainder of August and September was previously announced. That section of the season will be packed with big-time events: the PGA Championship, the FedEx Cup playoffs, the U.S. Open and the Ryder Cup. The season will wrap with the Masters in mid-November.
