What does it take for an athlete to be considered the best at their sport? An Olympic medal? Wins at major competitions? Multiple consecutive wins?
Check, check, check, for Nelly Korda. The golfer's done it all at just 25 years old, but it seems like the No. 1 player in the world is just getting started.
At the Chevron Championship this weekend, Korda added her name to the record books by tying for the most consecutive victories on the LPGA tour. She's won five in a row and has the chance to make it six and shatter the record completely.
Here's a look at the LPGA star's streak and where it stands in golf history.

Nelly Korda win streak
Korda shot 275, 13-under par at the Chevron Championship to take home the title. It was not only her second major but her 13th career title. She also became the first No. 1 player to win an LPGA major since 2016.

She's now up to five consecutive victories. Korda won the LPGA Drive On Championship, Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, Ford Championship and T-Mobile Match Play before the Chevron Championship. It ties Annika Sorestam and Nancy Lopez as the only LPGA players to win that many in a row. There have been just three men, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan and Tiger Woods, to win at least five straight, too.
Korda's true breakout year came in 2021. She won the Gainbridge LPGA and Meijer LPGA Classic before getting her first major win at the Women's PGA Championship. Afterwards, she earned her first No. 1 ranking. Her success didn't stop. Two months later, she won gold at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, becoming just the second American woman to win the gold medal.
Her rise to the top only lasted so long as she announced in 2022 she underwent surgery for a blood clot in her arm. Fortunately, it only kept her out for a few tournaments.
Longest win streaks in golf
No LPGA player has won more than five consecutive tournaments. The three PGA players who reached that mark surpassed it, however.
Nelson won 11 straight tournaments in 1945. That record looks like it will continue to stand for a while, too. Woods has three streaks of at least five wins while Hogan tapped out at six.
Quite the company to join.
