It was touch-and-go down the stretch, but Tiger Woods made the cut at the 2023 Masters by the skin of his teeth.
Woods made his 23rd straight cut at Augusta after finishing Round 2 at 3 over par over the course of Friday and Saturday. He hit a slew of pars Saturday morning after Round 2 was suspended on Friday, and it looked like he'd locked his spot in with a birdie on the 15th hole. However, bogeys on 17 and 18 pushed Woods to 3 over par, forcing him to root for either Justin Thomas or Sungjae Im to finish at 3 over or worse.
Both Im and Thomas did end up finishing at 3 over, with Thomas missing the cut at 4 over. That pushed Woods to his 23rd straight Saturday at Augusta, tying the record for the most consecutive cuts made at the Masters.
Woods joined Gary Player and Fred Couples with that streak. Couples, incidentally, made a different kind of history Saturday morning when he became the oldest player to make the cut in Masters history.

Who has made the cut at the most consecutive Masters?
With Woods' 23rd consecutive cut this year, he tied Fred Couples and Gary Player for the most consecutive times playing through the weekend at the Masters.

Couples made the cut from 1983-2007, winning in 1992 as the top-ranked player in the world. Player, meanwhile, made the cut from 1959-1982. Woods' streak has gone from 1997-2023, and is ongoing.
Despite the close call this year, Woods' streak is only more impressive given the circumstances. He's effectively only playing competitively in majors for the time being, and is seemingly still recovering from the car accident that resulted in him getting leg surgery in 2021.
Woods has had a lot of ups and downs throughout his tournament, and he's looking to finish the weekend out strong. For the time being, however, he's back in the golf record books. Even if it isn't as a frontrunner anymore.
