The start of LIV Golf's second season this past weekend in Mayakoba, Mexico featured something: the level of accessibility granted to the tour's U.S. fans.
In mid-January, LIV Golf announced it was teaming up with the CW Network in a broadcast television and streaming agreement. This is LIV Golf's first TV deal after offering only streaming for its inaugural season, and it's going forth in a multi-year partnership where the CW will air all 14 global events and stream the events live on the CW app.
They won't all be live, however. A number of the international events won't air in real time, and will air on The CW under tape delay. Namely, the Australia, Singapore, Spain, England and Saudi Arabia events will be aired live on the CW app and not the network itself.

Here's what LIV Golf brought in for TV viewership on The CW in its opening weekend as compared to the PGA Tour's weekend event, the Honda Classic.
LIV Golf TV ratings 2023
The first round was exclusively broadcast through the CW app, so the numbers were not available for comparison.
Below are the TV viewership numbers from Saturday and Sunday's streams on the CW:
Broadcast | Overall viewers | Viewers ages 18-49 | Network |
LIV Mexico - Sunday | 291,000 | 48,000 | CW |
LIV Mexico - Saturday | 286,000 | 55,000 | CW |

For comparison, below are the TV viewership numbers for the PGA Tour, which hosted its Honda Classic from Thursday, Feb. 23 to Sunday, Feb. 26. Broadcasts were held on NBC and the Golf Channel.
Event | Overall viewers | Viewers ages 18-49 | Network |
Honda Classic - Sunday | 2,383,000 | 390,000 | NBC |
Honda Classic - Sunday | 631,000 | 130,000 | Golf Channel |
Honda Classic - Saturday | 1,610,000 | 295,000 | NBC |
Honda Classic - Saturday | 555,000 | 68,000 | Golf Channel |
Honda Classic - Friday | 471,000 | 66,000 | Golf Channel |
Honda Classic - Thursday | 342,000 | 50,000 | Golf Channel |
While the numbers for LIV Golf's first time on air aren't spectacular in comparison to the PGA Tour's, they still have a stable amount of growing room. This was only their first weekend in cohort with the new network, and to have these numbers after not being able to secure a TV deal in their inaugural season is something to keep note of.
LIV Golf's next event will be in Tucson, Arizona from March 17-19.
