The American Century Championship is back for its 33rd iteration. The event has hosted some of the biggest names in entertainment and sport in years past, including Michael Jordan, Mario Lemieux, Stephen Curry and Ray Romano.

This storied blend of celebrity and sport has taken place in the same location for the last 32 years: Edgewood Tahoe South in Stateline, Nev.

Last year's winner, Vinny Del Negro, is taking part in the competition. But there's a host of talented golfers hoping to get their hands on that beautiful glass vase.

But what about the site of that 54-hole spectacle? Sporting News has you covered on the details of the picturesque golf course, as well as which holes to look out for throughout the 2022 American Century Championship.

Where is the American Century Championship in 2022?

  • Course: Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course
  • Location: Stateline, Nev.

The 2022 American Century Championship is being held at Edgewood Tahoe South in Stateline, Nev.

The course is 6,685 yards and features a lush green lawn. It sits right in the shadow of Lake Tahoe and all of its surrounding mountains.

The course, opened in 1968, was designed by famed golfer and golf course architect George Fazio. It was renovated by Fazio's nephew, Tom, the brains behind the nearby Wynn Golf Club in Paradise, Nev.

Edgewood has hosted a number of events, including the 1980 USGA US Public Links Championship and the 1985 US Senior Open Championship.

Edgewood Tahoe South course details

  • Par: 72
  • Distance: 7,445 yards

Edgewood Tahoe South pales in comparison to the distances featured at the PGA Tour's most iconic venues.

However, it might just be the perfect length for sports and entertainment's top intermediate players.

The course features a host of obstacles, including some towering pines (specifically on the 8th and 16th hole), pesky bunkers and a few water hazards, to boot.

The last three holes tend to prove especially challenging. The 16th and 18th holes are lengthy Par-5s, each spanning nearly 575 yards in distance.

They sandwich a 207-yard Par 3 which tests players' placement and control.

It's the type of course that requires technique and precision. And it will be interesting to see how those who have experienced the conditions fare compared to the competition's newcomers, like Alex Caruso, The Mix and Robert Griffin III, among others.
