Week 4 Fantasy Football Rankings, WR: Odell Beckham Jr. or Julio Jones?

Week 4 Fantasy Football Rankings, WR: Odell Beckham Jr. or Julio Jones? image

It's getting increasingly difficult to sort even the elite receivers in the weekly fantasy football rankings. Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., A.J. Green, etc., etc. all have strong cases to be No. 1 any given week. But not Calvin Johnson — not this week in Seattle.

That's a good problem to have, though. The real trouble is working around more high-profile injuries this week — Alshon Jeffery, Sammy Watkins, Davante Adams to name a few — and wondering what the heck happened to trusty veterans like Andre Johnson and Roddy White. Let's take a look at the full wide receiver fantasy rankings for Week 4 to identify the sleepers and busts for your seasonal or daily fantasy football lineups.

Week 4 Fantasy Football WR rankings

The Falcons' Julio Jones has leaped into the No. 1 spot after amassing a league-high 46 targets so far. Plus, he has a great matchup at home against Houston. Good luck, Texans.

Meanwhile, Antonio Brown, the previous lock for No. 1 status, has slipped to No. 5 following the loss of Ben Roethlisberger (knee). Brown will still be a stud with Michael Vick at quarterback, but we like Odell Beckham Jr., A.J. Green and Randall Cobb a little more in awesome matchups this week.

Victor Cruz, Alshon Jeffery, Sammy Watkins injury updates

The Giants' Victor Cruz (calf, knee) had a setback with his calf injury at Wednesday's practice and is now very questionable to make his season debut Sunday as planned. Even if he plays, Cruz won't make our top 50 WRs for Week 4 because we'd expect him to play behind Rueben Randle. We're also skeptical Cruz can be effective, at least not immediately, after last year's ugly knee injury.

The Bears' Alshon Jeffery is expected to play Sunday against the Raiders after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury. Despite the good matchup, we're not wild about him at less than 100 percent with Jimmy Clausen under center.

The Bills aren't sure if Sammy Watkins (calf) will play Week 4 against the Giants. If Watkins can't go, we'll upgrade Percy Harvin and Robert Woods in a good matchup. Watkins' absence would hurt Tyrod Taylor's fantasy outlook a little, though.

The Packers' Davante Adams aggravated his left ankle injury Monday night and is uncertain for Week 4 against the 49ers. If Adams can't go, Ty Montgomery would slide into his spot in a great matchup and would make a nice fantasy sleeper.

Fantasy WR sleepers for Week 4

We're loving James Jones against the 49ers and the aforementioned Ty Montgomery if Davante Adams (ankle) is out. Also, Michael Crabtree has a great matchup at Chicago. Watch out for Percy Harvin, who will move up the rankings if Sammy Watkins (calf) is out.

If you're digging a little deeper for a WR sleeper, check out Marvin Jones, who has a great matchup against a struggling, banged-up Chiefs secondary allowing 44 fantasy points per game to receivers.
