Fantasy football rankings, Week 2, WR: Dez Bryant, T.Y. Hilton injuries create sleepers image

The fantasy football wide receiver rankings for Week 2 get a little thinner on top without Dez Bryant (foot), T.Y. Hilton (knee) and DeSean Jackson (hamstring). Of course, that means opportunities for sleepers to step up, but when fantasy owners are already missing Jordy Nelson and Kelvin Benjamin for the year, and are constantly checking for updates on Hilton, Mike Evans, Victor Cruz and other injured receivers, it's getting tougher to trust this notoriously volatile position.

Case in point, Terrance Williams, Donte Moncrief and other talented yet unproven receivers are quickly moving up the fantasy WR rankings almost by necessity. Should you trust them immediately as No. 2 WRs? Let's see how the full WR rankings landscape looks for Week 2.

Fantasy football rankings, Week 2, WR

It goes without saying that we can't wait to see the matchup between Julio Jones and Odell Beckham Jr. at MetLife Stadium in Week 2. Those two are our Nos. 1 and 3 receivers, respectively, this week. Antonio Brown (No. 2), Calvin Johnson (4) and Demaryius Thomas (5) round out the top five, which doesn't feel quite the same without Dez Bryant.

The absences of Bryant and T.Y. Hilton move up some new receivers into the top 10 this week, which goes back to that waning trust in even the top fantasy options at the position. The turnover at the top is why we're not overreacting to Megatron's Week 1 dud or Demaryius' outlook with Peyton Manning's struggles.

T.Y. Hilton, Mike Evans and more injury updates

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton suffered a "bruised" knee in Week 1 and is not expected to play against the Jets, though he hadn't been formally ruled out as of Wednesday. The Monday night game makes it tough for fantasy owners to wait on Hilton unless they also have Donte Moncrief to plug in.

Bucs WR Mike Evans missed Week 1 with a strained hamstring and may be a game-time decision again this week against the Saints. He would be a must-start in that matchup, but if he's out, Vincent Jackson and Austin Seferian-Jenkins would benefit again.

Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas banged his hand last week but X-rays were negative and he's fully expected to play Thursday night against the Chiefs.

Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Michael Floyd (hand) were both able to play Week 1, but looked limited. They should see more snaps and targets when they play each other in Week 2, but both remain risky plays, especially Floyd.

Fantasy WR sleepers for Week 2

With Hilton doubtful to play Monday night, Donte Moncrief becomes a fantasy sleeper against the Jets. Not only would he move up the depth chart, he should benefit from Darrelle Revis blanketing Andre Johnson. Don't forget about Colts rookie Phillip Dorsett as a deep WR3 sleeper too.

Terrance Williams also gets a huge boost with Dez Bryant out 8-12 weeks. Consistency isn't his strong suit, but Williams has the deep speed to blow up any given week. He's a great daily fantasy tournament pick for the high ceiling. We also like Cole Beasley in PPR formats, as he'll inherit some of those targets Dez left behind.

If you're reaching deep for a sleeper, check out the Saints' Brandon Coleman, who scored his first career TD in Week 1. He has a great matchup against the Bucs, and will remain a red-zone threat with his 6-6 frame.
