Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings, QB: Tom Brady out of top five image

When the top five of our fantasy football quarterback rankings for Week 2 don't include Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Russell Wilson, you know it's going to be a strange week in fantasy football.

Are we crazy? Well, yes, but that's got nothing to do with it. Bad matchups and concerns about Manning's diminishing arm strength have us (slightly) bearish on this trio of Super Bowl winners. That means the fantasy football quarterback rankings will look much different at the top this week. Let's survey the landscape, and see how high rookie Marcus Mariota is ranked.

Week 2 Fantasy Football QB rankings

The Saints' Drew Brees is our No. 1 quarterback for Week 2, despite a shaky performance in his first game of the post-Jimmy Graham era. The Bucs are a much better matchup than the Cardinals, though, and we love Brees at home. Matt Ryan checks in at No. 2 with another potential high-scoring game on tap at the Giants.

No. 3 Andrew Luck (vs. Jets) and No. 5 Aaron Rodgers (vs. Seahawks) slip a bit because of tough matchups and because now both QBs will be without their No. 1 receivers with T.Y. Hilton (knee) likely out for Week 2 ; Jordy Nelson, of course, is out for the season. Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger slots in at No. 4 in his final game without Le'Veon Bell.

Fantasy QB sleepers for Week 2

The secret's out on Titans rookie Marcus Mariota, who was had a perfect NFL debut in Week 1. We like Mariota to be good (but not that good) again at the Browns, who struggled against Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets last week. We also like Carson Palmer (at Bears) and Colin Kaepernick (at Steelers) among this week's fantasy quarterback sleepers.

Fantasy QB busts for Week 2

Though we're not high on Tom Brady or Peyton Manning this week, you're still starting them in almost every fantasy league. Among the actual fantasy busts this week, watch out for Tony Romo without Dez Bryant. He still has solid weapons around him, but the Cowboys offense could be much more conservative in Week 2 and beyond. We've highlighted a few more QB bust picks to watch out for in Week 2, so be careful trusting those guys too much.
