Colin Kaepernick won't stand up and Tony Romo can't stand up, which means you should sit down and check out our latest installment of fantasy football sleepers: quarterbacks edition.

Sure, quarterback is insanely deep again this year, but it's also one of the most important positions to back up considering the point totals you expect — nay, demand — from your starter(s). These sleepers become even more vital in two-QB leagues.

Stand, sit or lie down, whatever's comfortable, and check out our fantasy QB sleepers. Of course, we'll be updating our fantasy fantasy QB rankings throughout the preseason, so check back often.

Will 49ers release Colin Kaepernick?

I, for one, hope the 49ers release Colin Kaepernick. Not for any personal reasons, but because Kaepernick as a free agent creates one more potential fantasy football sleeper, depending on where he lands. Admit it, you'd be a little intrigued if Kaep landed somewhere with a chance to start because of injury or incompetence. It's all about fantasy business here, nothing personal.

Of course, if the 49ers don't release Kaepernick, he's stuck behind Blaine Gabbert until further notice.

Tony Romo injury update: Dak Prescott.

No doubt you've heard that Tony Romo hurt his back (again) and will miss a few weeks, opening the door for preseason darling Dak Prescott to start. But did you know that Cowboys VP Stephen Jones acknowledged there's at least a chance Prescott could permanently dethrone Romo as the starter? It's a long-shot, sure, but Prescott's preseason play coupled with Romo's long injury history makes the former well worth a late-round flier as your QB2. I'm interested in almost any QB throwing to Dez Bryant.

Tom Brady suspension 'cheat'

Last year's "Tom Brady suspension" advice still applies: You can draft the Patriots QB at a steep discount, fill in with a QB2 for four weeks (plus the bye) and still be successful in your fantasy leagues. Heck, you could even roll with Jimmy Garoppolo in deeper leagues for the first month if absolutely necessary.

Broncos name Trevor Siemian starter

In the latest indictment of Mark Sanchez, the Broncos officially named Trevor Siemian as their starting quarterback. Siemian outplayed Sanchez all preseason and should run away with the job for good. However, keep in mind that even with talented weapons in receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, Siemian will be asked to protect the ball, lean on the run and let the defense win games. To that point, we're moving Thomas and Sanders down the WR rankings.

Don't forget about RGIII

Seriously, don't forget about new Browns QB Robert Griffin III. He's got something/everything to prove, he has talented pass-catchers in rookie WR Corey Coleman and TE Gary Barnidge, and he'll add Josh Gordon to the mix in Week 5 against the Patriots, coincidentally the same week Tom Brady returns.
