Nigeria players have sent messages of appreciation to their fans following their exit from the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

After their loss in the opening game to Croatia, Gernot Rohr’s men bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Iceland but failed to repeat that imperious form against Argentina as they lost 2-1, no thanks to a late Marcos Rojo strike, which ended their campaign in the global football showpiece.

However, team captain John Obi Mikel along with Oghenekaro Etebo, Elderson Echiejile, Wilfred Ndidi and William Troost-Ekong have taken to Instagram to applaud the solidarity enjoyed during the tournament.
