VIDEO: 'Fortnite celebrations so overrated!' – Batshuayi sees funny side after booting ball into own face image

Michy Batshuayi will probably wish he had this particular celebration back.

After Adnan Januzaj scored in the second half of Belgium's World Cup encounter with England on Thursday, the Belgian striker found himself near the net with the ball in his hand.

Clearly excited by the moment, Batshuayi attempted to drop-kick the ball into the net. But it didn't go quite as planned.

The Chelsea forward slammed the ball off the post and back into his face in what will likely be the most painful goal celebration of his career.

Naturally, Batshuayi had some fun with his misfortune, tweeting after the game: "Fortnite celebrations so overrated bro I had to create something new."

He also posted a picture of the moment before his unfortunate drop-kick with the caption: "The second just before I knew I f*cked up"

It certainly was a novel way to celebrate a goal, which ended up giving Belgium a 1-0 win and top spot in Group G.

Batshuayi will hope for more Belgium goals and less painful celebrations when his country take on Japan in the last 16 on Monday.
