Stephen Eze is disappointed following his exclusion from the Nigeria squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

After the Super Eagles’ 1-1 stalemate with DR Congo on Monday, Gernot Rohr pruned down his 30-man team to 25, leaving out the Lokomotiv Plovdiv defender.

Also left out is Kano Pillars striker Junior Lokosa, who made his debut in the encounter, as well as Standard Liege midfielder Uche Agbo and Plateau United goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye.

And following the setback, the 24-year-old has taken to the social media to express his feelings.

“Sadly, my journey to the World Cup ends here. I am disappointed to not make the final squad, Eze tweeted.

“But I want to thank our coach & management for the opportunity!

“I wish my team the best & hope to join in celebrations when they bring the trophy home! Go Nigeria.”

The three times African champions will try England for size on Saturday at the Wembley Stadium, London in a friendly encounter before they wrap up their preparation for the global tournament with a game against Czech Republic on June 6.

In Russia, they face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in Group D.
