Nigeria must play a perfect game to beat Croatia in Friday’s World Cup game, according to former international midfielder Mutiu Adepoju.

The Super Eagles face the Europeans in Kaliningrad and a win will boost their aspiration of reaching the knockout phase.

Gernot Rohr’s men have not won any of their last four international games and the former Real Madrid star is under no illusions about the task facing the three-time African champions.

“I'm expecting a very tough match against Croatia. They have a very good team, and Nigeria have to play a perfect match without much mistakes to win. I know the Super Eagles can do it,” he tweeted.

After the game against Zlatko Dalic’s team, the Super Eagles face Iceland and Argentina in their next two games.

This is the first time both teams will be meeting on the international scene. Croatia’s best-ever performance is a third-place finish in 1998, while Nigeria are yet to get past the Round of 16.
