Midfielders Victor Bobsin, Marcos Antonio, Alan, Helio Junio, Victor Yan, Rodrigo Nestor, Vitinho
Forwards Lincoln, Paulinho, Yuri Alberto, Brenner

With Lincoln leading the line and the likes of Alan, Paulinho and Brenner providing the attacking impetus, the Latin Americans look in good shape ahead of the last four tie.

Potential starting XI: Brazao (GK); Lucas Halter, Vitao, Weverson, Wesley; Bobsin, Antonio, Alan; Paulinho, Brenner, Lincoln.

Position England players
Goalkeepers Curtis Anderson, Josef Bursik, William Crellin
Defenders Timothy Eyoma, Lewis Gibson, Marc Guehi, Jonathan Panzo, Joel Latibeadiere, Steven Sessegnon
Midfielders George McEachran, Philip Foden, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Jadon Sancho, Nya Kirby, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Emile Smith Rowe, Morgan Gibbs-White, Conor Gallagher
Forwards Rhian Brewster, Angel Gomes, Daniel Loader

European Championship’s Golden Boot winner Jadon Sancho has long since returned to parent club Borussia Dortmund but England have shown they can flourish even without the star forward with Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster and Manchester United’s Angel Gomes stepping up to the plate.

With Manchester City’s Phil Foden proving himself to be a real handful for the opposition defenders and George Mceachran handling the midfield strings in sublime fashion, England have the support case necessary to take the game to the Latin American giants in this last four tie.

Potential starting XI: Anderson (GK); Guehi, Latibeaudiere, Panzo, Sessegnon; Gibbs-White, McEachran, Oakley-Boothe, Hudson-Odoi, Foden; Brewster.

GAME PREVIEW

The Selecao were 20 minutes away from elimination from the tournament in their quarter-final clash against Germany but two late strikes from Weverson and Paulinho ensured that the Brazilians continued their ever-growing cult status in the tournament.

A record attendance of 66,613 turned up at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata to cheer the Samba boys against the Europeans and that massive support could come handy once again for the South Americans after the semi-final tie was moved from Guwahati to Kolkata owing to poor pitch conditions at the former.

Meanwhile, England have dazzled up the tournament themselves and will find no shortage of support on Wednesday either.

Having missed out on the European crown earlier this year in a penalty shoot loss to Spain in the summit clash, Steve Cooper’s wards will be looking to create more history as they bid for a first ever World Cup final slot.

The consummate ease with which the English dismantled the United States in their quarter-final tie, against a team who were looking solid before the clash, shows that the current crop have a mettle to them which has been missing from the senior side for some time now.
